Job Description:

 

We are seeking a Portfolio Chief Engineer to lead a $100M portfolio of NSA-approved cryptographic products for national key management systems. In this role, you will provide technical supervision and guidance to executing programs, ensuring they meet stringent security and performance requirements. You will also be responsible for:

 

  • Leading critical technical programs and developing innovative solution architectures for new business pursuits.
  • Develop technical, cost, and schedule inputs for proposals while making Internal Research and Development proposals and executing on those allocations.
  • Interactions with senior engineering leaders and cross-functional collaboration with P&L Leaders, necessitating strong communication skills and professional polish.
  • Acts as an expert and dynamic tactical leader.
  • Supports high-visibility executive-level integration and demonstration events at a national enterprise scale - both test and operational infrastructures.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret // SCI Clearance.
  • Travels up to 10%, typically US Domestic

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Industry Experience with U.S. DoD product engineering development.
  • Experience with Key Management Systems: Demonstrated program experience with U.S. National scale Key Management System and at least 5 years of key management and cryptographic products experience.
  • Engineering Development Leadership: Proven experience in leading (cost, schedule, technical aspects of engineering content) engineering development of at least one successfully NSA-certified cryptographic product.
  • Cryptographic Products Expertise: At least 6 years (with a Bachelor’s Degree) / 5 years (with a Master’s Degree) of engineering development experience with NSA-certified cryptographic products.
  • Experience leading other leaders on national/corporate-scale enterprise projects.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics highly preferred. Or, Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics highly preferred.
  • Engineering Development Leadership: Proven experience in leading (cost, schedule, technical aspects of engineering content) complex engineering development activities in the security domain.
  • Integration Skills: Demonstrated successful experience integrating high-trust subsystems and software into US National Key Management Systems.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated strength in driving program execution to on-time, on-budget, and technically acceptable outcomes.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated strong and dynamic interpersonal leadership skills.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated success in executive communication skills.
  • Protective Leadership: Demonstrated ability to insulate subordinates from undue pressures and distracting stress.

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $150,000.00 - $250,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
