Job Description:

Inspection of purchased material and receiving documentation quantity, condition, configuration, revision against the purchase order, drawing and configuration paperwork. Verification on measurements according to drawings and inspection criteria physically or with CMM. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the quality and integrity of the production process by preventing defective materials from entering the production line. This position is represented by a bargaining unit. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Inspect incoming materials, components, and products for conformance to specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Verify the accuracy of shipments by comparing the received items against purchase orders, packing lists and drawings.
  • Use measuring tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM) to perform detailed inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, including the results of inspections, non-conformances, and any corrective actions taken.
  • Communicate inspection results and any issues to relevant departments, including procurement, quality assurance, and production.
  • Identify and document non-conforming materials or components.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Follow up on non-conformance reports to ensure timely resolution and closure.

  • Able to obtain IPC-610 and/or J Standard 001 certification
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active Security clearance or able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Previous experience in quality inspection, receiving inspection, or a related role in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot coating issues.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and documentation.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and inspection equipment.
  • Good understanding of quality standards, specifications, and documentation. 

Preferred Additional Skills: 

  • Experience in mechanical assembly, hand soldering, and self-inspection
  • IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC J-STD certifications
  • SAP experience
