Job Description:
The Mechanical Designer will support L3Harris Integrated Systems & Encryption team in Camden, NJ.
Essential Functions:
• Receive sketches and descriptions, written or verbal information, as appropriate, and designs complete mechanical equipment and mechanical features of electronic equipment.
• Prepare calculations, layouts, details and assemblies involving design of equipment comprising one or more units of components, in accordance with L3Harris Integrated Systems and Encryption – Camden team standards and practices considering design simplicity and manufacturing economy.
• Prepare or directs preparation of parts lists and bills of material, signs off drawings as party responsible for drafting accuracy and may check design and drawings of other drafting personnel.
• Operates interactive computer-graphic systems as required.
• May direct work done on their assignment by other drafting personnel.
• May perform minor electrical drafting related to mechanical design. May participate in the resolution of problem sheets relating to fabricating parts and assemblies in manufacturing.
• Write and review engineering change notices at the direction of Engineering and/or Management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
Qualifications:
• Experience using PTC Creo8.0 or above with at least 5 years of job-related work experience.
• Experience preparing designs and drawings of complete mechanical enclosures, 3D routing of cables, castings, and machined housings compliant with ASME Y14.100.
• Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) techniques in accordance with ASME Y14.41.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Experience with Windchill Data Management System
• Associate’s degree, in Computer Aided Design with a minimum of 8 years of related work experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5 years of related work experience. Master’s degree in engineering with 2 years of related work experience.
• Current possession of a US Government Secret Security clearance desired.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $51,858.35 - $128,789.21. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
