Job Description:
Lead, Statistical Process Control Engineer (SPC) is responsible for implementing SPC including automated chart generation from data collected by Delmia. Work is guided by individual annual goals and objectives with minimal oversight or direction. SPC Engineer uses Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to monitor, control, and improve quality in manufacturing or other processes by analysing process data. They implement statistical tools, such as control charts, to identify trends and variations, which allows them to pinpoint and correct problems before they lead to defects or waste. Frequently responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees across the Company within area of expertise. Responsible for managing large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Ultimately, their goal is to reduce variability, improve product quality, and increase operational efficiency.
Essential Functions:
- Collects and analyzes production data to understand process performance and variability.
- Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
- Designs, implements, and interprets statistical control charts (like X-bar and R-charts) to monitor process stability and identify trends.
- Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
- Investigates and determines root causes of problems, develops and implements corrective and preventive actions with SPC tools to determine the underlying causes.
- Contributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.).Recommend 8-10 bullet points maximum.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant Manufacturing Engineer experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related Manufacturing Engineer experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related Manufactuirng Engineer experience.
Perferred Additional Skills:
- Computer skills sufficient to generate reports and analyze data using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Minitab.
- Experience with Delmia application.
