Job Description:

L3Harris Integrated Mission Systems is seeking a Software Engineer. Responsibilities include the translation of requirements into working and maintainable solutions for our C5 and Cyber Solution Centers. The selected candidate will apply technical proficiency across various stages of our SDLC, gather requirements and work closely with stakeholders to prioritize and scope tasks. The selected candidate will be working as a key team member on a Scrum team and will be instrumental in setting our direction and strategy for product and infrastructure development

Tasks include:

• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target hardware
• Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
• Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal test
• Develop software test plans and procedures, and other relevant technical documentation
• Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, prototype, and evaluate results
• Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects
• Utilize a variety of software languages (primarily Java/C/C++ and Python), in Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, Integrity, and others for Motorola, Intel, TI, and custom processor designs)  

Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship with a current Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Related coursework and/or up to 5 years of experience developing software for embedded applications in Java/C/C++
• Exposure to debugging embedded applications on simulated and target hardware
• Familiarity with a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS), such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, embedded Linux or similar
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience with communication systems (VOIP/DSL)
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Experience with RTC

Preferred Skills:

• Object-oriented design and implementation experience, with exposure to software modeling and UML
• Knowledge of network architectures and protocols
• Understanding of PJSIP/PJMEDIA/ALSA

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Object-oriented design and implementation experience, with exposure to software modeling and UML
• Experience with static analysis, code coverage tools, and automated test frameworks
• Hardware / Software Integration experience

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $81,000 - $125,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
