Under general direction of supervisor, perform any assembly operation and wiring function to final completion or refurbishment on all breakers, switchgear, cradles or any related large air circuit breaker apparatus.
Responsibilities:
- Install, align and secure parts, sub-assemblies and other components including meters, relays, control switches, cradles, circuit breakers or any other related accessory devices.
- Adjust clearance and contacts for proper mechanical and electrical action using feeler gauges, fixed gauges, and similar aids.
- Make specified pilot assemblies or assembly changes.
- May be required to assist with in-house repair or refurbishment of units as needed.
- Assist with quality investigations, including review and support of nonconformance resolution activities.
- Utilize job orders, job cards, bills of material, service reports, parts lists, sketches, assembly and detailed drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, standard shop practices or verbal instructions for all operations.
- Draw parts and materials from stock storage racks or trays.
- Detect and correct any electrical or mechanical defects which may cause improper operations and check own work for accuracy and completeness.
- Make mechanical, crimped or soldered connections as required.
- The use of step stools and lifts as needed.
- Perform torquing operations as needed.
- May support internal inspections and audits as required
- Work with customer representatives and engineering as required
- Use hand and portable power tools as necessary.
- Operate machine tools such as drill press, grinder, band saw, belt sander, or similar aids as prescribed by manufacturer's specifications.
- Refer all unusual conditions to supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate electronic work instructions.
