What the role will involve

 

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

 

  • Responsible to the Engineering Safety Manager for delivery to a Safety and Environmental Management System and the promotion of a safety culture relevant to design and delivery of systems, through the business.
  • Under supervision and with support, construct credible safety cases, support product development and ensure robust safety engineering quantitative and qualitative analysis has been scoped and carried out to high standards to underpin such safety cases.
  • Undertake safety engineering tasks and analysis, drawing on knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Lead and support other subordinate safety professionals.
  • Support the design and implementation of improvements to processes, systems or products.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required

What you’ll bring

 

The role requires the following experience and skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. (In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience).
  • Strong knowledge of safety management; be considered as a specialist within discipline.
  • Experience of Hazard Management and Risk Assessment including the principles of ALARP and Tolerability.
  • Knowledge/understanding of project management.
  • Knowledge of marine systems engineering would be beneficial but not essential.
