Job Description:

 

Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for problem-solving, testing, and delivering high-quality results? We are looking for a Test Technician to join our team and play a key role in supporting the testing, validation, and delivery of products and systems used in demanding environments.

As a Test Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of test activities in line with approved specifications, procedures, and quality standards. You will work closely with engineering, production, and programme teams to ensure testing is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently, supporting both business objectives and customer requirements.

 

This role requires someone who can confidently interpret technical documentation, follow detailed procedures, and maintain accurate records while operating in a safety-critical environment. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance testing processes and overall operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Execute a variety of mechanical, electrical, and environmental tests in accordance with approved test specifications and procedures
  • Read, interpret, and accurately follow engineering drawings, technical instructions, and test documentation.
  • Ensure all testing activities are completed to the required quality, technical, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices at all times.
  • Support the planning, preparation, and execution of test campaigns to achieve departmental and programme objectives.
  • Accurately capture, record, maintain, and report test data and results.
  • Prepare and maintain test records, reports, and supporting documentation to ensure full traceability and compliance.
  • Investigate, identify, and escalate test anomalies or equipment issues where required.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Programme teams.Support customers, both internal and external, by providing technical testing information and updates as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance, calibration, and upkeep of test equipment and facilities.Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test methods, procedures, efficiency, and service delivery.

 

Essential Requirments:

 

  • Ability to follow technical instructions, specifications, and documented procedures accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, Health & Safety requirements within a technical environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eligible to work on UK Military contracts and meet any applicable security requirements.

 

Preferred Skills & Experience:

 

  • Previous experience working within a testing, manufacturing, production, laboratory, or engineering environment.Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge gained through education, training, or practical experience.
  • Experience using test equipment, measurement tools, and data collection systems.
  • Good level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications and data recording systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting quality assurance, troubleshooting, or product verification activities would be advantageous.
