L3Harris in Brighton are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F-35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon. Brighton designs, manufactures and tests a large portion of its release systems portfolio. This facility offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space for the development of high-performance, multi-station solutions used to launch air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions from bay, wing or fuselage stations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a deep understanding of the Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle who thrives on solving challenges across concept, design, integration, test, and through-life support. If you bring additional expertise in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Reliability, or Safety, we’d especially love to hear from you.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Take ownership of Systems Engineering processes and procedures.
  • Leading technical planning, integration, verification/validation, and risk/cost analyses.
  • Driving systems engineering activities across all phases – concept, design, fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Managing and guiding complex projects and technical tasks.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to interpret and deliver on operational requirements.
  • Translating customer needs into robust hardware and software specifications.
  • Applying best practice in requirements management (DOORS/Innoslate experience highly valued).
  • Supporting trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to the wider Systems Engineering team.

 

What you’ll bring 

The role requires the following experience and skills:

  • Experience in a similar role, performing at a senior level.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex projects and provide oversight at all stages.
  • Strong track record of coaching, mentoring, and guiding teams.
  • Expertise in requirements management, system design, and development across the full lifecycle.
  • Practical use of requirements tools such as DOORS or Innoslate would be advantageous
  • Experience in ILS, Reliability, and Safety engineering will be a significant advantage.
