This role requires advanced knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and inspection methodologies to validate product conformity. Operating under stamp‑warranty authority, the Inspector performs product acceptance—including physical dimensional/visual over‑inspection and End Item Data Package (EIDP) review—on behalf of the Missile Solutions SQA department. The role collaborates closely with Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) and Quality Management to support mission success.

Essential Functions:
• Perform detailed in‑process and final inspections on machined parts, composite components, and complex aerospace assemblies to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Support supplier‑assigned SQEs with First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
• Perform Supplier End Item Data Package (EIDP) reviews in accordance with contractual requirements and execute accept/reject decisions for final electronic acceptance under stamp‑warranty authority.
• Apply advanced GD&T principles in collaboration with SQEs to validate product conformity and ensure proper inspection coverage.
• Utilize a wide range of precision inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gages, visual aids, and other measurement instruments.
• Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate and thorough inspection execution.
• Work collaboratively with SQEs and Quality Managers to resolve nonconformances, drive corrective actions, support continuous improvement, and reduce line rejections and turnbacks.
• Support supplier‑quality activities, which may include domestic travel for on‑site inspections, sometimes requiring short‑notice deployment or training.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable industry and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; or graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
• 4+ years of experience applying GD&T principles; working with complex assemblies, machined components, and composite structures; and performing inspection methods, processes, and documentation practices
• 4+ years of experience using inspection tools, including hand tools, precision measurement instruments, and visual inspection aids
• Ability and willingness to travel within the United States up to 100%, including occasional short‑notice travel to support supplier inspections and related activities

Preferred Additional Skills:
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with suppliers, engineers, and management
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Experience reviewing NDT certifications (e.g., FPI, Radiography)
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and applications
• Prior aerospace industry experience in supplier quality, source inspection, or similar functions
• Familiarity with nonconformance documentation, corrective‑action processes, and supplier‑quality systems
• Experience performing independent product acceptance under stamp‑warranty authority
• Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and AS9120
• ASQ CQI certification or Six Sigma preferred
