Under the Bagotville Site Manager, the Avionics Technical Support Representative is responsible to provide technical Service and Expertise in the field of avionic CF-18 systems and equipment to First and Second line maintenance Units and technicians and solve/liaise Technical problems/issues with the associated and authorised establishments. The incumbent is also responsible to liaise with various stakeholders with troubleshooting, unserviceability rectification and modification implementation. 


We are looking for a person with a strong CF-18 Avionics background to join our team of Technical Support Representatives currently in place.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical specialist assistance to maintenance managers, technicians and operators on problems with the CF-18 aircraft avionics systems;
  • Assist maintainers at all levels in researching and interpreting CFTO, and exploiting other reference tools such as Master Parts File, Maintenance Record Set, NAVAIR, drawings, etc.;
  • Assist when Avionics installation problems occur;
  • Participate in the validation/verification of new modifications or special inspections;
  • Assist in the resolution of difficult, unusual or unforeseen problems with aircraft/systems. Conduct technical research and participate in the design of system enhancements and modifications;
  • Keep the local CF-18 community informed of the latest trends and developments regarding all technical issues via written and verbal communications;
  • Conduct technical surveys/evaluations at Unit level, as requested by the CF-18 WSM office and/or MOB maintenance managers as well as L3Harris MAS Operations, Material Management and Engineering;
  • Provide on-site coordination and intermediary liaison between L3Harris, LCMM, CF-18 WSM, other technical authorities and aircraft maintenance personnel of all levels at Units;
  • Assist with the management, use and training of the CF-18 databases and publications and prepare and submit publication discrepancy reports (PDR);
  • Keep current with current and new technologies (hardware / software) which might benefit the CF-18 community
  • Assist DND Units and Wing Flight Safety offices with investigations of incidents & accidents; and, contribute in the documentation of failure reports and/or Unsatisfactory Condition Reports;
  • Assist/complement the other TSRs in the accomplishment of their duties;
  • Carry out duties as directed by the Site Manager and L3 Harris

 

Qualifications:

  • College degree or University degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in the field of the CF188 Hornet Avionics;
  • Ten (10) years of experience in a CF188 Operational Unit;
  • Maintain current Level A Maintenance Authorizations on the CF188 (1st and 2nd Line) in Avionics Systems;
  • Knowledge of all Cf-18 Hornet Aircraft Systems (AVN, AVS, and ACS)
  • Knowledge of SAP;
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Detailed knowledge of IETM, DMS/MRS
  • Being customer oriented service and results while adopting an approach integrates with the organization's values;
  • Good oral and written communication skills in both languages (French and English).

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
