Job Description:

L3Harris' Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) located in Palm Bay, FL is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Segment Specialist to join our Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Team. This position will report to the EHS&S Segment Director. This role will work within a cross-functional team to develop and implement programs and initiatives to drive progress towards L3Harris’ long-term environmental sustainability goals as well. This individual will have a thorough understanding of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and protocols, water reduction strategies, waste reduction and diversion strategies, have a strong background in data analytics, environmental sustainability software management systems and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with cross-function members of the Corporate Environmental Sustainability team to fully integrate policies and procedures into segment operations and complete peer assessments to ensure full alignment.
  • Monitor and evaluate environmental sustainability emerging regulations globally.
  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to drive progress towards L3Harris’ long-term environmental sustainability goals around GHG emissions, water use and solid waste reduction from landfill.
  • Lead SAS’ quarterly environmental sustainability quality assurance and control and annual GHG emissions inventory third party verifications process.
  • Analyze environmental sustainability performance metrics to identify key trends.
  • Responsible for coordinating and participating in the completion of eco-treasure hunts, solid waste characterization assessments and sustainability maturity assessments/plans.
  • Accountable for managing employee engagement initiatives through L3Harris’ Green Teams.
  • Updating and maintaining segment specific sustainability initiatives in the enterprise project pipeline.
  • Represent L3Harris on designated working groups within the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG).
  • Act as an international liaison on environmental sustainability initiatives specifically within the United Kingdom.
  • Partner as a trusted advisor and coordinate on a continuous basis with internal customers including Facilities, Legal, Finance, Procurement and others to understand evolving business objectives, expectations and specific requirements.
  • Partner with Corporate to support the expansion of L3Harris Scope 3 GHG disclosures and programs through internal and external partnerships.
  • Manage L3Harris’ Green teams and work to expand participation across the enterprise by creating resources and tools that will help support members drive progress.
  • Serve as a resource to Real Estate, Facilities and other internal functions for identifying and developing energy and water-efficient technologies, projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

  • Ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Project management experience and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, including identification of critical path items to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
  • Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced environment and take on new responsibilities as the environmental sustainability industry evolves.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to form partnerships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Prior experience with various environmental sustainability software systems and analytical tools such as Power BI and Snowflake.
  • Experience and / or knowledge with energy/renewable energy markets and energy and utility regulation.
  • Knowledge of facilities / maintenance environment.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $78,000 - $145,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
