Job Description
As an Engineering Technician, you will work in a dynamic, fast‑paced production and R&D environment with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail. You will support the engineering design process, lead special projects, serve as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure product quality and validation. This role involves analyzing technical data, providing on‑site assistance, developing technical content, and mentoring team members.
The role will be part of the Agile Development Group, a division specializing in developing disruptive, next‑generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS/UAV), advanced radar systems, next‑generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies—leveraging small‑company agility with big‑company expertise.
Essential Functions:
• Perform all duties required to assist with acceptance testing of various products and sub‑assemblies.
Tasks may include:
o Running automated and manual test scripts for acceptance testing, software/firmware loading, and sensor calibration.
• Operate custom and off‑the‑shelf equipment, including network analyzers, power meters, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and similar devices.
• Identify, document, and perform basic troubleshooting on non‑conforming products.
• Recommend updates to existing processes and review test documentation in support of engineering and manufacturing activities.
• Verify the quality of tested products and interpret test results to validate compliance with drawings and other specified requirements.
• Identify and correct conditions affecting employee safety, upholding corporate safety standards.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment with manufacturing, planning, and engineering.
• Lift, push, pull, and/or carry 25–50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Walk, bend, sit, stand, climb, and reach for prolonged periods.
• Perform tasks requiring seizing, grasping, turning, holding, and operating manufacturing tools and equipment.
• Work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; OR
2‑year post‑secondary/Associate degree (or equivalent) with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Active DoD Secret Clearance preferred; ability to obtain is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with C++, C#, Python, Java, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or TestStand.
• Experience in electronics assembly, particularly harness assembly.
• Experience with factory acceptance testing of aerospace systems or similar industries.
• Proficient in soldering, crimping, and use of assembly hand tools.
• Proficient in using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
• IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 certification preferred.
• J‑STD‑001 certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and interconnect diagrams.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse and dynamic team environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to organizational success.
• Active Secret Clearance desired but not required.
• Experience working in environments that implement ESD and FOD controls.
• Knowledge and understanding of product quality processes.
