Job Description:
As the Sr Associate, Systems Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for executing hardware and software integration and system characterization and troubleshooting during verification and validation of complex systems.
The Agile Development Group (ADG) specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.
Essential Functions:
- Hands-on system integration and testing of a complex hardware/software system.
- Perform design verification testing efforts including lab, chamber, ground, and flight test.
- Assess, troubleshoot, and develop mitigation strategies for system issues at the assembly and sub-assembly levels.
- Maintenance of test equipment.
- Work with team-mates to solve parts vendors issues.
- Learn and contribute during design, develop, build, integration, test, verification, and validation cycles.
- Ensure deliverables are in accordance with requirements.
- Collaborates across multidisciplinary (mechanical, electrical, software, and specialty engineering) team.
- Assists with simulation development and analysis to predict system performance in various environments.
- Analyze data from design verification test efforts.
- Track technical performance results.
- Authors test plan/procedures, non-conformance reports, requirements, and other system engineering CDRLs.
- Contributes to trade studies.
- Uses Agile PLM, Sunflower, Windchill.
- Ability to maintain DoD security clearances as required.
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs.
- Up to 10% travel may be required.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances as required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in unmanned aircraft or guided weapon systems.
- Experience with and an understanding of aerospace systems, especially in the development of integrated hardware/software products.
- Entry level experience in the design and integration of complex hardware/software systems, the definition of multiple interfaces, and been involved in the trades of multiple solution options.
- Hands-on system integration experience, cross-discipline engineering, verification and validation testing, and system performance characterization.
- Entry level experience integrating typical payloads like sensors or communications into air vehicles.
- Entry level experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
- Experience with MATLAB, LabView, Python, or C/C++/C#.
- Experience in development of CONOPs, use cases, and requirements developed from customer objectives.
- Excellent people skills with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).
- Experience using Microsoft Office products.
