Job Description:
Senior Quality Engineering Specialist is responsible for Program Quality Management of contracts for the prototype, manufacture, and production of Unmanned Air Vehicles.
Essential Functions:
- Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Make moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes based on Root Cause Analysis and/or Continuous Improvement efforts .
- Read, interpret, and approve technical drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 with extensive working knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Circuit Card Assemblies, and Wiring Harnesses.
- Document and communicate product and process non-conformances and serve as the Material Review Board Chair to resolve technical/quality issues.
- Lead problem solving for complex issues that may require comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation.
- Inspect machined, composite, and formed parts and assemblies for conformity to design data.
- Inspect wiring harnesses and electrical assemblies for conformity to design data.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances as required.
- Requires Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Previous Quality Engineering experience in an AS9100 manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO and AS9100 quality standards and procedures.
- Experience using 3D CAD software.
- Understanding of root cause corrective action and continuous improvement principles.
- Able to serve as the liaison to external parties on matters relating to quality issues.
- Hands on experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Leadership and communication skills written and oral; able to collect, organize, analyze and present on various quality data reports clearly.
- Self-starter who works well in a team environment.
- Able to provide support and leadership to team members.
- Able to serve as the liaison to external parties on matters relating to quality issues.
- Written communication skills including a successful track record writing procedures, work instructions and reports, as well as solid personal computing skills.
- Prior experience with Agile, Factory Logix, Control, SAP, Windchill, or similar systems.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is MIN: $96,000.00 - MAX: $178,000.00.
