Job Description:

Responsible for the design, development and implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of company products in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Performs analysis on reported nonconformities and discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical systems, field and clinical data. Further investigates the cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans. Leads material review board and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Conducts program quality cost account management and manages supplier corrective actions. Serves as the primary interface to customers and supplier for quality related matters.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
  • Read and interpret Technical Drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 with extensive working knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Implements strategic goals established by leadership. Establishes operational plans for job area with short-term impact on results.
  • Provides input into new products, processes, standards and/or operational plans that will have measurable impact on the achievement of overall function or business results
  • Inspect wiring harnesses and electrical assemblies for conformity to design data.
  • Document and communicate product and process non-conformances and coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Configuration Management or suppliers to resolve technical/quality issues.
  • Perform technically complex failure analysis investigations, root cause determination and effective and timely corrective actions, including proactive measures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area. May have in-depth knowledge of project management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

  • Provide feedback to product design team to improve design, assembly, maintainability and testability through all phases of the design and development lifecycle.
  • Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management.
  • Promote the interchange of information, improvement plans, and corrective and preventive actions. Disseminate relevant information to affected functions and personnel. Offer short and long term solutions to resolve product quality and system problems
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to identify root causes to complex issues and recommend options for resolution.
  • Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
  • Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
  • Outstanding work ethic, sense of urgency and commitment to organizational success.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Working knowledge of ISO and AS quality standards and procedures.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software
  • Hands on experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership and communication skills written and oral; able to collect, organize, analyze and present on various quality data reports clearly.
  • Able to serve as the liaison to external parties on matters relating to quality issues.
  • Written communication skills including a successful track record writing procedures, work instructions and reports, as well as solid personal computing skills

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is   Min $116,500.00 - $216,500.00 Max. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $101,500.00 Min - $188,500.00 Max. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
