Job Description:

Hardware Configuration Management (HWCM) is responsible for planning, identification, change management, status accounting, verification and audit of hardware configuration items. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Establish and/or update configuration management program plans in accordance with Harris policy, HWCM procedures, and contractual requirements.
  • Analyze proposed product design changes to determine their effect on the overall system.
  • Perform regular configuration audits on established baselines.
  • Authorize the release of product related documentation, such as drawings, part lists, specifications, statements of work, technical notes and subsequent changes requested by Engineering
  • Administer existing hardware configuration management toolsets, including records management and end user support.
  • Responsible for logging, filing and tracking all necessary drawings, documents, lists and various other items. Generates variety of standard reports.  Tracks location of hardware/software to incorporate future changes and additions.
  • Lead in multi-discipline teams on various assignments.
  • Managing and tracking government furnished equipment to include regular inventory checks.
  • Prepare Configuration Management cost plans for task orders and proposals
  • Ensure contract deliverables are provided to the customer on time, adhere to contract requirements, and are of high quality. Maintain the delivery schedule and coordinate with team members to provide inputs and communicate deadlines.  Assist program team members in documentation formatting. adhering to internal standards, formatting requirements, and contract authorization. Ensure correct and complete markings on all documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance required.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of EIA-649B Configuration Management Principles as they apply to both Hardware and Software.
  • Advanced knowledge with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, such as Agile PDM.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced continuous change / agile engineering environment
  • Experience in COTS integration environments
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, JIRA, ClearQuest
  • Industry experience in a Configuration Management role. 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
