Job Description:

This role will perform a wide range of CAD design assignments in support of the mechanical engineering organization including the editing of models and/or drawings, notes provided by engineering. Assures design documentation complies with the program requirements, organizations processes and industry standards. Prepares accurate drawings and schematics with proper tolerances, dimensions and instructions, with oversight from more senior level designers.

 

The Agile Development Group (ADG) specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide CAD support (PTC Creo) throughout the product development process
  • Generate and/or modify products models, drawings and documentation
  • Support the control of mechanical digital data files and drawings
  • Prepare and incorporate engineering changes orders
  • Input data and assure hardware structures are accurate in a Product Data Management tool
  • Work under general supervision
  • Compliance with command media and standards
  • Identifies problems/issues in CAD design/drawings and provide corrective actions
  • Utilize 3D CAD tools, specifically PTC Creo Parametric
  • Knowledge of applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices) and its application techniques

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • 3+ years experience in 3D CAD modeling using PTC Creo, Solidworks, or CATIA
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Expertise in 3D CAD modeling
  • PTC Creo strongly preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and general understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques
  • Prior experience in developing aircraft structures or major sub-assemblies is strongly desired
  • Prior electronics packaging experience
