Job Description:
The Senior Manager of Procurement within the Maritime Sector is responsible for all aspects of electronics material procurement and strategic execution of the procurement function, including leading actions in combined metrics, forward looking approaches for procurement and proposals for all programs within the business unit. This individual will work in a matrixed organization supporting Supply Chain Management and will report directly to the Maritime Sector Director of Procurement.
The role will support strategy, long term planning, CPSR and internal policy compliance, large negotiations, savings, continuous improvement Initiatives, and Supply Chain metrics initiatives, while collaborating with program management, operations, engineering, finance, and other support functions. The individual will be responsible for developing a world-class procurement team through staffing, training, and talent management initiatives while serving as a role model for integrity, inclusion, and diversity.
The role will maintain responsibility for succession planning, as well as organizational and talent development.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with the functional organizations across the Sector to identify strategic suppliers and work proactively to meet or exceed performance (cost/schedule/technical) needs
- Manage procurement processes and systems; Ensure processes are aligned with all Government, L3Harris, and prime contract requirements
- Identify and execute initiatives to improve performance based on industry best practices
- Select, motivate, and lead a strong team
- Support strategic new business pursuit activities as a critical subject matter expert for purchased and subcontracted systems and services
- Ensure risk management strategies and processes are deployed on critical procurement efforts
- Manage procurement metrics to ensure company goals and supplier performance objectives are being met and maintained
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- 15 years of supply chain management experience in the aerospace and defense industry
- 2-5 years of proven experience in leading high performing direct reports of 5 or more employees
- Must have demonstrated organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Proven track record in managing external suppliers to overcome barriers to ensure on time deliveries
- Solid knowledge of defense supply chain and purchasing processes (FAR/DFARS)
- Ability to manage change in an organization, reengineering its culture and approach to workload management
- Understanding and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, specifically Costpoint or SAP
Preferred Additional Skills:
- APICS or ISM certification a plus
- Secret Clearance
- Must have advanced computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office products
- Previous experience with SAP
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with all levels of management
- Excellent analytical and organization skills
- Ability to manage change in an organization, reengineering its culture and approach to workload management
- Experience purchasing electronics, custom metal fabricated parts, cable and wiring harnesses, and / or complex electrical components and assemblies
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, and New Jersey is $120,500- $223,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
