Job Description:

As a Data Analysis Engineer you will:

  • become knowledgeable of test range instrumentation radar systems used to collect data on launch and reentry systems.
  • become proficient in the use of established processes and software applications developed for radar data processing and analysis
  • become proficient in the ascertaining target system performance based on interpretation of the processed data
  • become proficient in the use of established processes and software applications developed for predictive modeling and analysis to develop data collection plans
  • participate in the development of new radar analysis processes and supporting software applications
  • participate in performing trades studies, requirements analysis, development, derivation, allocation, and documentation of new or upgraded radar systems

Essential Functions:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or other technical field and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum two years of technical data analysis experience with specific examples of completed projects
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance at the Top-Secret Level. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with radar performance tools such as MATLAB. 
  • Software experience with interpretive language MATLAB, Python or R.
  • Software experience with compile language C/C++, Java or C#.
  • Experience in technical topic areas: Applied Numerical Algorithms, estimation theory, nonlinear programming/ optimization, control systems, modeling and simulation, data analysis, radar systems, digital signal processing (DSP), software programming, learning and adaptive systems, machine learning, artificial Intelligence.
  • Experience performing trades studies, requirements analysis, development, derivation, allocation, and documentation
  • Experience with Model Based System Design, Test Automation, and Agile development experience
  • Radar Signal Processing, Radar Data Analysis, Radar Hardware, System Engineering principals is desirable
  • Excellent coordination/communication skills, be pro-active and should be able to lead a team of diverse personalities.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Experience in the application of Applied Numerical Algorithms to problems of powered and ballistic re-entry of suborbital aerospace vehicles.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $76,000 - $141,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
