Job Description:
The Specialist Manufacturing Engineer, designs, optimizes, and implements production processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. They lead continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) initiatives, develop technical documentation (SOPs), and troubleshoot equipment issues. This role acts as a bridge between design engineering and production, ensuring products are manufacturable.
Essential Functions:
- Process Development: Create, validate, and document manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean Six Sigma techniques to reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support and hands-on guidance to production teams for equipment troubleshooting.
- Manufacturing Engineering (Design for Manufacturability): Collaborate with design teams to ensure new products can be efficiently manufactured.
- Project Management: Lead projects for new production line installations and capital equipment upgrades.
- Quality Assurance: Utilize statistical process controls to analyze trends and implement corrective actions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- 2-5+ years in a manufacturing environment, with some roles requiring specialized expertise.
- Proficiency with CAD software, ERP systems, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Strong ability to analyze data, identify process issues, and provide solutions.
- Ability to mentor junior technicians and engineers.
Desirable & Highly Preferred Experience:
- MS Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or MBA
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $84,000- $156,000 . This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
