Job Description:

L3Harris Interstate Electronics Corporation has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer to develop and maintain software for embedded and GUI applications for the Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) systems.

BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience in technical discipline. Excellent oral/written communication skills a must. Demonstrate experience, knowledge and understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

 

6-8 years experience in real time embedded software development, GUI software design and development, and test software development (simulators).

 

Skills in real-time embedded/GUI/test software/simulator product development, C/C++/C#/VB.NET/Python programming, PVCS source management tools, and use of host/target development environment/tools.

Essential Functions:

Serve as a Software Engineer in all phases of testing in support of development, integration, fielding and operational support of various flight test instrumentation systems and shipboard systems. Responsibilities will include:

·         Develop and maintain software applications for the FTI systems

·         Generate and maintain Software Development Plan (SDP), Software Requirements Specification (SRS), and Software Design Document (SDD) IAW contractual or company standards

·         Utilize IBM Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) tool to support system/software requirements management

·         Utilize automated code check tools such as CodeDx and Understand for evaluate compliance to coding standards and to detect cybersecurity vulnerabilities

·         Evaluate and analyze Defense System Information Agency (DISA) Application and Security Development (ASD) software Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for cybersecurity compliance

·         Generate software test plans and conduct software test verification and validation activities

·         Work within the integrated product team framework IAW company/Engineering policies, procedures and work instructions

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience in technical discipline

·         Must have and maintain at least a SECRET level Security Clearance

·         Must have demonstrated 4 years experience in real time embedded software development, GUI software design and development, and test software development (simulators).

·         Must have skills in real-time embedded/GUI/test software/simulator product development, C/C++/C#/VB.NET/Python programming, PVCS source management tools, and use of host/target development environment/tools.

Preferred Additional Skills:

·         Knowledge and application of the Navy’s T9001B guidelines for software development is highly desired

·         Knowledge of IBM DOORs and Rational Publishing Engine (RPE) is desired

·         Familiarity of Understand for C/C++ tool for code compliance checking

·         Familiarity with static code analysis tools is desired

·         Familiarity with application and analysis of the DISA Software Application STIG requirements for CSCIs under development is desired

·         Knowledge and application of Agile scrum methodology for software development is a plus

·         Knowledge and experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) for modeling software systems in tandem with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) modeling is a plus

·         Knowledge and working experience with Integrated Development Environment (IDE)/OS is desired:

·         Wind River Workbench/VxWorks Real-Time Operating System (RTOS)

·         Qt Enterprise

·         Red Hat Enterprise Linux

·         Microsoft Windows OS

·         Microsoft Visual Studio

·         Knowledge and use of Vector Cast software unit testing & verification tool is highly desired

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Power Point) and Project Scheduler are required

·         Knowledge and application of DEVOPs process for software development is a plus

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $95,000 - $177,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $83,000 - $154,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
