Perform system administration and helpdesk type tasks under the supervision of a manager and senior engineers. The work includes installation, upgrades, repair and maintenance of disconnected Local Area Networks (LANs) and networked resources attached to a Campus Area Network (CAN), servers, desktop and laptop PCs, support for network backup systems, configuration support for user applications, troubleshooting and/or debugging network-related problems, inventory management and maintenance of the network's authorization infrastructure.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Setup, configure, maintain, and enhance Kubernetes/Docker environments.
  • Setup, configure, maintain backend Linux infrastructure for DEVOPS environments
  • Provide support to the DEVOPS developers on environment building/enhancement
  • Support backup and restoration practices of DEVOPS hosts in a mixed virtual/physical environment.
  • Provide performance tuning and measurements in a mixed virtual/physical environment.
  • Develop automated processes to support the Kubernetes based DEVOPS environment.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines with demonstrated written and oral communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 4+ years of System Administration experience using Linux Red Hat
  • 2+ years of experience working with VMware virtual environments
  • 4+ years of experience supporting Docker/Kubernetes development environments
  • Secret Clearance is required

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite
  • Experience with Red Hat Ansible
  • Experience supporting the following application tools:
    • Perforce
    • MicroFocus SBM
    • Atlassian suite: Jira, Crucible, FishEye, etc.
    • Jfrog Artifactory
    • Jenkins
