Job Description:
The Power Systems Division Senior Manager of Inventory & Logistics is responsible for leading and overseeing the total material and inventory strategy for all contract and non-contract material at the division’s sites and ensures a high degree of support to each site’s master production schedule. This role will work closely with the Supply Chain Leaders to ensure material is proactively planned, ordered, received, stored, and issued to the manufacturing line to support the manufacturing need date, master schedule attainment, and customer on-time delivery. The Senior Manager of Inventory & Logistics will oversee each site’s material receipt, storage, integrity, accuracy, and government property compliance strategy that supports the production schedule through effective data and backlog management, planning techniques, ERP/MRP expertise, and inventory accuracy.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the Stockroom and Logistics Managers at each site and ensure the shipping/receiving, and inventory teams plan for, control, and handle all contract and non-contract inventory (inclusive of Government Property).
- Responsible for driving and maintaining a high degree of performance to each site’s operational metrics (Ex: Dock-to-Stock, Aging MO’s, Inventory Accuracy, etc.).
- Drive the “Plan for Every Part” mentality across the division through effective MRP use, inventory accuracy, and materials management process execution.
- Ensures a high level of inventory accuracy through an effective cycle count program and supports all site MMAS requirements (Inventory Accuracy & Material Accountability)
- Collaborate with the analytics team to develop and maintain reporting that supports the operational and supply chain metrics:
- Receiving Velocity
- Inventory Accuracy
- Material Receipt Cycle Time
- Work Order/Kitting Execution
- Master Schedule Attainment
- Shipping Velocity
- Help to ensure the supply/inventory side of SIOP process is properly represented and planned for in all SIOP related activities.
- Develop and execute on a warehousing and storage strategy that capitalizes on physical capacity and supports a high-volume manufacturing facility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, supply chain management, or other technical discipline and 12 years of Operations, Materials Management, or Inventory experience 5+ years in a leadership capacity or Graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years prior related experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate, influence, and lead across multiple levels, teams, and business units.
- Change agent and leader who can help transform the organization and maintain a high level of engagement.
- Leads process improvement initiatives with little to no direction and supervision.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with supporting production/manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge in government contract material compliance.
- Knowledge in defense program planning.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or APICS certification; CPIM certification highly desired.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $120,500-223,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
