Job Description:

As the Senior Engineering Manager based at our Anaheim facility, you will lead a team of engineers focused on design and development of ASIC and it’s related complex technical challenges. Your multifaceted role encompasses functional management and direct technical contribution, potentially leading a team through activities such as technical planning, design, analysis, implementation, system integration, validation, and verification, covering all phases in the ASIC Design Development Cycle. You will support the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Segment, collaborating with a cadre of highly skilled professionals who are committed to innovative engineering solutions and have established a reputation for excellence and reliability with our customers. Your primary duties include guiding the ASIC team within military GPS design, providing technical direction, and overseeing the planning and staffing of your team. Working under the Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering, you will ensure that resources are allocated effectively for programs and proposals support, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and adherence to established electrical engineering processes.

Furthermore, candidate will plan and administer procedures and budgets, lead staff hiring and development and make capital & Non-Capital budgetary recommendations.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Leadership of direct reports to ensure continuing adherence to electrical engineering processes and approaches on all programs.
  • Responsible for determining staffing requirements and adjusting staffing levels as necessary to ensure that the ASIC Design workface is appropriately staffed with qualified individuals.
  • Responsible for coaching and development of a team between 6-12 engineers supporting ASIC design programs.
  • Responsible for career counseling for each individual with performance evaluations and career discussions throughout the year. Prepare and administer performance reviews for those individuals on their staff.
  • Review BOEs and other artifacts / deliverables for technical quality / process adherence.
  • Support / lead technical planning, system design integration, validation, and verification activities in support of programs and development efforts.
  • Judgment and Decision Making — Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution.
  • Customer Interaction – Point of Contact to our customers and our suppliers.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
  • Develop and/or review and approve ASIC Engineering bids.
  • Champion continuous improvement and cost reduction with sector / segment leadership.
  • Define and endorse allocation of capital to maximize capability and productivity.
  • Develop and deploy ASIC engineering process standards, enabling best in class execution, inclusive of quality, schedule and cost performance.
  • Plan and manage department level budgets.
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to include leadership and other engineering functions.
  • Ability to guide/direct ASIC engineers to create requirements, design descriptions, verification plans/procedures, customer CDRLs to meet program schedules.
  • Ability to support cross functional teams for cross functional design conflict resolution, Root Cause Analysis, blank page architecture developments and design
  • Ability to provide project management reports as required, support senior level and customer reviews as necessary.
  • Ability to interface with the program’s leadership and other teams (SW, Systems, HW, ME, and Test) on a frequent basis, conduct or participate in customer and/or program technical review presentations, and provide progress status updates on work products.
  • Ability to participate or lead in the product development process including design reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior experience.
  • 5 years experience in the development and/or review and approval of engineering bids.
  • 4 years experience in the drafting and submittal of management level reports.
  • 4 years experience leading root cause. corrective action investigation using disciplined problem-solving methods and statistical analysis.
  • Must have a Secret clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to understand the ASIC development design cycle.
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to include leadership and other engineering functions.
  • Proficient in MS Office, design tools such as Simulink/Matlab, P-Spice, Cadance ASIC design Tools Suite.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills from executive to front line levels, with an ability to collaborate with others as well as motivate and manage the team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $143,000. - $266,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
