Job Description:
- Participate in the design, development, and testing of high-voltage and high-power maritime power conversion equipment, encompassing hardware and component selection, PCB design, and system-level integration and testing
- Collaborate, communicate, and coordinate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, encompassing both engineering and non-engineering disciplines
- Carry out assigned tasks under the guidance and supervision of senior engineers, engineering managers, and project engineers
- Accountable for executing and completing small-scale scopes of work, ensuring alignment with project constraints such as quality, schedule, and cost
- Conduct peer reviews of technical documentation, including but not limited to reports, procedures, wiring diagrams and tables, simulations, and schematics
- Create technical presentations and effectively communicate your work efforts to colleagues and stakeholders
- Support Electrical Engineering proposals in the definition of scope and corresponding budgets for program execution
- Generate Electrical wiring diagrams/tables, models, simulations and schematics
- Collaborate with peers on departmental improvement initiatives, ranging from the standardization of circuit model and simulation libraries to the documentation of best practices and processes, and beyond
- Gather, process, and analyze extensive datasets to inform and support decision-making
- Safely perform testing and inspections on large-scale electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to electrical hardware designs, as well as challenges arising from the integration with software and mechanical design elements
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and in good standing with GPA > 3.0
- Forecasted graduation within 2 years
- Completion of all first and second-year course work including Analog Circuits, Calculus and Physics courses
- Firm understanding of basic AC & DC circuit concepts and analysis
- Experience with circuit modeling and simulation using tools such as PSPICE, LTSPICE or Simulink
- Able to lift 32 lbs
- Able to obtain a US Security Clearance
- Able to take information security training and comply with all security processes & protocols for safeguarding information
- Excellent organizational, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Course work emphasis on Power Engineering such as Power Conversion, Control theory, motor control, Power distribution/generation, etc.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, etc.)
- Familiarity with PSPICE & Matlab
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment including but not limited to thermocouples, digital multi-meters, powerscopes, oscilloscopes, current and voltage sensors, power supplies
- Experience with Cadence OrCAD schematic, PSPICE modeling/simulation, and/or Allegro PCB Design software.
- Experience with Atlassian software suite - Confluence, JIRA
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $25.00 - $47.50. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $22.00 - $40.50. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
