Job Description:
As a member of the Special Test Equipment sustainment team, responsibilities will include the support of all engineering and production asset needs with regard to test equipment. In addition, the candidate will work closely with primary product design engineers, systems engineers, EMI/EMC engineers, and qualification test engineers to ensure equipment availability and readiness. The candidate will also support Production and MRO as needed to maintain, diagnose, and repair test equipment being used. The chosen Candidate will be proficient with wire connector repair, and harness fabrication.
Essential Functions:
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of advanced avionics test systems, including dismantling, adjusting, repairing, wire connector repairing, calibrating, aligning, assembling, and operating according to engineering drawings, schematics, operating or repair manuals.
- Responsible for tracking and resolving daily test issues with equipment used for engineering lab, qualification, verification, manufacturing and operations activities.
- Maintain test equipment asset management and tracking database.
- Assists manufacturing technicians by answering questions and providing training on test systems and troubleshooting tools.
- Fabricate and assemble Special test Equipment and associated wiring harnesses.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of digital, analog circuitry experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years experience.
- Experience with digital or analog circuitry.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong technical, analytical and critical thinking / reasoning skills.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing test systems, production processes technical standards and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of wire connector repair, harness fabrication and required tooling.
- Background in a military electronics manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience reading schematics and troubleshooting to component level
- Experience with common electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, AC and DC power supplies, AC and DC load banks, video test pattern generators and logic analyzers.
- Ability to diagnose physical and data layer problems with popular military/aerospace data buses such as MIL STD 1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 708, RS-232, RS-422, Firewire (1394a), Ethernet and USB.
- Ability to troubleshoot computers and computer operating systems new and legacy designs (Windows 10, Windows 7, Window XP, Windows NT, Windows 95, Microsoft DOS).
- Strong Office tool skills along with a general instrumentation hardware and software knowledge.
- Ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
