Job Description:
The Radio Sales Engineer (RSE) will work directly with L3Harris Public Safety & Professional Communications (PSPC) Sales Team to support business development activities. The primary duties of the RSE are radio demonstrations for L3Harris customers, maintaining a fleet of inventory, supporting regional and national trade show events, and a core understanding of our radio programming software and feature selection when programming radios for certification on P25 systems. Successful candidates have the ability to manage multiple priorities and execute on a timely basis.
Essential Functions:
- Understand customer requirements to recommend equipment solutions to that will meet their requirements
- Demonstrate successful technical solutions to customers
- Liaison between internal and external stakeholders to define user requirements and shape product features to fit those needs; Collaborate with product positioning to business developers, engineering teams, and product line managers
- Work with Account Managers to create a vision for successful technical demonstrations, trials, and exercises
- Execute development and delivery of product demonstrations
- Provide input during the evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as a key technical advisor
- Coordinate support for technical complexities of assigned accounts to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process
- Stage, maintenance, and operation of a typical LMR Trunked Radio Systems
- Provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical support for L3Harris products to customers, to include operation and limited maintenance
- Provide training to customers on various L3Harris products
- Provide support to other team members as required for similar responsibilities
- Support centralized equipment cache - including configuration maintenance and movement logistics
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Systems engineering/integration experience
- Internet Protocol (IP) networking experience
- Military service (Technical/Communications) experience a plus
- Active Security clearance
- Assoc. or bachelor’s degree in RF or Electrical technical field of study or 6 years relevant experience in communication planning, operation, or installation.
- Radio communication experience (HF, ANW2, SATCOM, FM, P25)
- A basic understanding of electronics theory and the ability to work with hardware components as required
- A working knowledge of Public Safety communications and Public Safety dispatching operations
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $96,000- $179,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $86,500– $160,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
