About the role

Make your mark on one of the most high-profile and strategically critical Australian Defence Industry programs in Adelaide. Specific to the SEA-5000 project, L3Harris IMSA are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who will join us to be our in-country liaison between the customers engineering team and the L3Harris Maritime UK engineering team. Currently this is assisting with design changes, with the future role supporting the integration of the Integrated Platform management system onto the fleet of Hunter Class Frigates.

Our Systems Engineers will support the creation and review of the contracted engineering outputs involved in delivering communications/navigations/platform management. Under the direction of the Project Engineering Lead, you will support the production and delivery of engineering documentation across the project lifecycle.

Your remit will be as broad as it is challenging. Key responsibilities may include but not be limited to; liaising with customers and staff to develop requirements and assessment of constraints; design documents; test procedures and test reports; supporting the agreed safety program; Creation of documentation in accordance with additional QA or project requirements; Task progress reporting to the Project Engineering Lead on task status, predicted completion and issue identification.

 

This position will require 2 days/week on customer site.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in the Systems Engineering Lifecycle.

  • Current Baseline Australian Defence Security clearance, and able and willing to obtain and hold to NV1
  • Defence industry experience preferred

  • Degree in Communications/Electrical/Electronics/Systems Engineering or similar

  • Development of specifications, requirements, design, and test procedures

  • Knowledge of the operation of communications equipment and systems.
